SALVA-MAR, S.A.

Founded by Ing. Salvador Gutierrez, in 1986 in the fishing community of Bucaro, Province of Los Santos. In 1992 we began operations as a processor and exporter of fresh seafood toward United States.

In 2004 we incorporate a line of frozen products as Sea Eel, Common Stingray and fishes, whole, in trunk and fillets. In 2014 we incorporated in our products fishmeal and we begin with the national distribution to chain hotels and restaurants across of our company´s affiliate Bucaro Premium with plans to expand our products to national supermarkets, restaurants, and hotels.

OUR  INSTALLATIONS

We are located in Salva-Mar, S.A. Building, Boca Parita Port, Chitre, Herrera, Rep. of Panama. We have a staff of over 40 employees and we introduce sanitizing procedures and operation as a mandatory application in the processing of our products: in Good Manufacture Practices (GMP); Cleanliness and Sanitizing procedures and Hazard Analisis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) required by some internationals markets.

Considering that quality is our priority, we keep to our team work ready to receive and select the products that our suppliers bring us the 24 hours a day.

Our installations comprehends: administrative offices, fresh fish processing rooms, fillets and frozen processing rooms, ice machines, ice storage room, frozen rooms and frozen fish storage rooms, vacuum packaging machines, and fishmeal processing machine.

SOCIAL  RESPONSIBILITY

As part of our environmental responsibility the products that we handle, mostly, comes from artisanal crafts that first of all are carefully selected and also not pollute the environment nor has a greater impact on the marine ecosystem.

We also maintain business alliances with fishermen associations sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank coordinated by PRORURAL as a state institution.

Since 2011, as a part of social responsibility Salva-Mar support to employees families by providing scholarships for students in elementary and high school. The permanence of the scholarship is subject to an academic average.
